Warm Weather Expected for this Weekend! 4/11

Updated: Apr 13, 2019

Friday is expected to be like a typical spring day with highs to be just around normal for this time of ear. Away from the coasts and further south into New Jersey expect highs to be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Meanwhile closer to the water and further north highs will feel a little more brisk in the mid 40s and 50s as a High Pressure sits just offshore. Right about up to New York City will feel the warmth while a cold front keeps everywhere north of New York City much cooler. Clouds will be building all day Friday and make for very little sun the first day of the weekend as the storm system that is producing a lot of snow and sleet out to our west cuts to our north. This will provide us with some rain and showers later on! The lack of sun will be the reason for the slightly chiller temperatures however this will be fixed as we head into the heart of the weekend.

Friday night will feature lows in the 50s with some light rain. This rain will spread from west to east during the overnight hours of Friday and should only last a few short hours before passing.

Expect some leftover showers Saturday morning but clearing out later in the day. Highs will be a much warmer than on Friday with some peaks of sun especially during the afternoon hours as the storm system moves away from the region. Highs will be in the mid 70s for the whole area from New Jersey to Massachusetts. Highs are going o be 3-4 degrees above normal for this time of year however the lack of sun may make it feel slightly cooler.

Saturday night temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s with a chance of showers and some low clouds.

Sunday will be a tricky forecast as some models hold down temperatures greatly with the passage of a cold front while others do not. Expect temperatures north of New York City to be in the high 50s and low 60s. South of New York some regions may trickle up into the 70s even though there will not be much sun to speak of. On and off showers are expected with the possibility of some steadier rain later in the day.

Overnight expect lows to be near 60 with steady rain.
